We will ask you about previous charters, lengths you have taken and miles traveled. It is not a procedure: in the Canary Islands there are accelerations between islands and deep anchorages, and a skipper with a freshly drawn paper and zero miles is not in a position to manage that with a group on board.

There is an intermediate solution that we frequently propose: hire professional skipper the first two or three days —departure, first crossing, first anchorages—and keeping the boat for the rest of the week.

You leave with the miles done, knowing the area and with the boat already mastered. It is cheaper than the full week with a skipper and much more sensible than starting out alone here.

Between €2,500 and €3,000 depending on the boat. It is blocked at check-in on Saturday and returned in full at check-out on the following Saturday, after inspection of the boat.

If there is damage, the corresponding amount is deducted. It is the industry standard in bareboating and is non-negotiable: it is precisely the fact of taking the boat alone that justifies it.

The Lagoon 43 (Ky Dong) yes, as long as you prove specific experience in multihull, not just in sailing. A catamaran does not list when hit by a gust and that changes the way it is governed.

The Lagoon 46 (Machango) does not: it has a mandatory skipper and is the only exception in the entire fleet. That is why it does not appear in the list of boats on this page.

Our technical team is contactable during all the days of the charter. If something arises on board, you call and we will resolve it: by phone if it is something minor, or by moving someone if necessary.

We only ask that you comment on the planned route in the briefing. It is not to authorize it, it is to review with you the recommended crossing times, the acceleration zones and the ports of refuge for each section.

It is in person and is done by a navigator from our team, not an administrator. We review the boat system by system—engine, electricity, water, anchoring, electronics, security—, we sign the inventory and block the deposit.

The second part is the area: meteorological report, recommended anchorages according to the wind component, channel accelerations and route recommendations according to what you have in mind. No rush.
