Boat trip with food in Mallorca lunch in anchored cove
Full day on a sailboat or catamaran along the coast of Mallorca with lunch on board in a cove. Departure 10:00, anchoring, lunch, after dinner, optional second anchorage, return to the port. Coordinatable catering or you bring it.
He boat ride with food It is probably the most complete and demanded output format in the fleet. Full day, comfortable departure at 10:00, route along the coast, anchoring in a cove, lunch on board with a long dinner, second anchoring if you feel like it, return to the port at sunset. It is the formula that best balances navigation, bathing, food and rest — the one that best works for a mixed group of adults and children, or for a lazy day as a couple.
The typical approach: exit La Lonja Marina (Palma) at 10:00, navigation for 1-1.5 hours towards the chosen cove (Cala Mago, Portals Vells, Cala Pi, Es Trenc depending on the boat and weather), anchoring, swimming, lunch on board between 2:00-3:30 p.m., after dinner until 4:30 p.m., eventual change of cove or continuation, return to the port at 6:00-6:30 p.m. Eight hours in total, with a comfortable pace and without rushing.
Catering: three options depending on budget and comfort. (1) You bring the food (at no extra cost) — the boat has a large refrigerator with ice, a table in the cockpit, and basic linens. (2) Light catering on board appetizer or boards (~€25/p). (3) Formal lunch pre-prepared by a Palma restaurant (~€55/p), delivered to the boat before departure. For large groups on a premium yacht, a chef on board can also be coordinated. If you want more water activity during the day, check out boat water sports.

What is a boat trip with food like?
Typical structure of the day — flexible, of course, but this is what is most requested by families and groups who want a balanced full day.
Departure 10:00
Meeting point La Lonja Marina, Palma. Brief briefing from the skipper, we leave port at 10:00. A reasonable hour that does not require getting up early but allows you to take advantage of the entire day.
Anchoring in cove
After 1-1.5 hours of sailing, I anchor in the chosen cove. Usual coves: Cala Mago, Portals Vells, El Toro, Cala Vinyes. For Cala Pi or Es Trenc (further south), departure a little earlier.
Lunch on board
Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., lunch on deck overlooking the cove. You bring the food, or we coordinate catering from an aperitif (~€25/p) to a formal lunch (~€55/p). Wines in refrigerator, tablecloth and basic crockery on board.
Long desktop
What distinguishes this format: real after-dinner time. Coffee, conversation, nap on deck, relaxing swim. 90-120 minutes of doing absolutely nothing in an anchored cove — the most underused luxury of the Mediterranean summer.
Optional second anchorage
If the day suits you, around 4:30 pm I change coves for a second stop with a swim in another spot. If the group prefers to stay, the skipper proposes a quiet return and a long aperitif on the deck on the way to the port.
Return 17:00-18:30
Return to La Lonja Marina between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. depending on the cove visited. If you want to extend to sunset, we coordinate it as a longer departure (10 hours instead of 8 hours, with supplement) — combinable with sunset on boat.
How much does a full day with lunch cost?
Boat + skipper + fuel. Food separately (you bring it or we coordinate).
Including: use of the boat, professional skipper, safety equipment, fuel, refrigerator with ice, table in cockpit, basic tableware. Not included: food and drink (you bring it or we coordinate), moorings in other ports. Best season: May-October. Saturdays in July-August: book 4-6 weeks in advance.
What we get asked the most about walks with food
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, totally and at no extra cost. The boat has a large refrigerator with ice (it perfectly fits food and drinks for 8-10 people for the entire day), a table in the cockpit, table linens and basic dishes. Recommendations: food that does not require cooking (sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, cheese, fruit), drinks in a bottle or can (not in fragile glass), separate garbage bag to throw away when you return.
Who organizes the catering if I coordinate it with you?
We work with caterers from Palma specialized in boats. Three options depending on budget: careful appetizer (~25€/p, charcuterie boards, cheese, nuts, dips, fruit), pre-prepared lunch (~€55/p, salads, cold main course, dessert, all in individual containers), chef on board (~90-200€/p, only viable on boats with equipped kitchen — Lagoon 43/46, Jeanneau Yacht 54). They deliver it to the boat before leaving.
How long does the walk last?
8 hours is the standard format (10:00-18:00 approx.). It can be extended to 10 hours (10:00-20:00) with a supplement if you want to include the sunset at the end of the day — then it is practically a day + sunset combined, recommended in high season when the sunset is very late.
In which cove do you anchor?
Most used coves from Palma for a full day: Cala Mago (closest, arrival in 1h), Portals Vells (caves and beach with beach bar), The Bull (classical), Cala Vinyes, Cala Pi (further south, 2 hours sailing), It's Trenc (turquoise, ideal on a catamaran due to shallow draft). The skipper proposes according to the weather and group preferences.
How much does it cost for the entire group?
Full day sailboat (8h) with skipper: from €1,300. For a group of 8 people, it costs €165/p. If you add a coordinated formal lunch (€55/p), the total is around €220/p. For a large group on a catamaran: €2,200 + lunch (€55/p × 9 = €495) = ~€2,700 (~€300/p). If you bring the food yourself, the cost per person drops by ~€50/p.
Do you have a refrigerator and water on board?
Yes. Large refrigerator with ice (all-day capacity for 8-12 people), complimentary bottle of fresh water (5-10L, depending on boat), fresh water tap on deck, bathroom with fresh water shower. If you need much more water or a specific drink, we add it to the coordinated catering list.
How many people can fit?
Small sailboat (Cotufa, Tizón): 6 comfortable pax. Medium sailboats (Akilina, Tomeu, Majadero, Katalina): 8-10 pax. Large sailboats (Joulukka, Le Grand, Tefiti, Tasmanian Devil, Little Mia): 10-12 pax. Catamarans: Ky Dong 9 pax, Machango 8 pax. For groups of 12+ we value two boats in a flotilla.
