The starting point
Hotel teambuilding no longer impresses anyone
Meeting room with artificial light, group dynamics after lunch and dinner in the restaurant of the same hotel. It is done because it is easy to hire and easy to justify, and everyone in the room has already been in four of the same.
When looking for something different, two problems appear. The first is logistical: coordinating twenty or thirty people outside a hotel multiplies suppliers and risk. The second is that the "original" alternatives tend to be canned activities that are contracted the same in Tenerife as in Valladolid.
And there is something that on an island is almost absurd: events are organized in Tenerife without going out to sea, which is exactly the only thing that this destination has and another does not.
The proposal
An own fleet and who You know her coordinating the event
A company event on a boat in Tenerife can range from a three-hour outing with the management team to a week-long flotilla with several boats sailing together. We set it up with our own fleet—14 boats—and professional in-house skippers, not subcontracting to third parties.
This matters for a practical reason: when the supplier is also the shipowner, there is a single interlocutor for the boat, the skipper, the route, incidents and billing. If you are thirty people spread across four boats, that difference is noticeable.
We have been organizing charters and flotillas for more than thirty years, including the Charter Week we do in the Balearic Islands. The coordination of several boats sailing together is not something we improvise for an event: it is what we do.

What can be set up

Internal regatta between boats
The teambuilding format that works best. The team is divided into several skippered boats, they take a tour and compete. No one needs to know how to sail: the skipper directs and the crew executes.

Meeting or presentation on board
With the boat at anchor, the salon of a Jeanneau Yacht 54 or a Lagoon 46 works surprisingly well for a small group. Without cell phones ringing and without anyone looking at the clock in the next room.

Incentives and prizes
A day on a private boat as recognition of a team or a client. It is one of the few things that people tell when they return to the office.

Multi-day flotilla
Several ships sailing together through the western archipelago, with stages to La Gomera and common anchorages. The most ambitious incentive format and the one I remember the most.

Catering and logistics
We coordinate food on board, transfers from the airport and prior accommodation if necessary. A single interlocutor for everything, which in a corporate event is half the work.

Service offered by and for sailors. The difference is noticeable from the check-in.
Own fleet, not a marketplace. The boat you reserve is maintained, inspected and delivered by us. We do not put you in contact with an unknown owner and we move away.
The check-in is done by a sailor. Not an administrator with a signature sheet: someone who knows the anchorages of the island, the accelerations of the channels and at what time it is convenient to cross.
Support throughout the charter. Our technical team is available the days your rental lasts. If something arises on board, we will resolve it without you wasting the week.

We look at what is available on those dates and we tell you honestly which unit fits your group. Closed budget, without intermediary commission.

You confirm with 50%
50% blocks the reservation and the remaining 50% is paid four weeks before boarding. Until that first payment there is no commitment of any kind.

Check-in at Marina del Sur or Marina Santa Cruz with a briefing from a team navigator: the boat, the area, the part and the anchorages. No rush.

How many people can fit in an event?
Each boat carries 6 to 11 people. For larger groups, several boats sailing togetherare combined, each with its professional skipper.
With the entire fleet, considerably large groups can be coordinated. Tell us exactly how many there are and we'll tell you which configuration fits.
Does someone need to know how to navigate?
No. Each boat carries its professional skipper, who is responsible for the boat. The team participates in the maneuvers if they want, and in fact this is what makes the regatta format work as teambuilding.
No one needs a qualification or prior experience of any kind.
What format do you recommend for teambuilding?
The internal regatta between boats. You assign the team, each boat has its skipper directing, you take a tour and compete. It forces you to coordinate, distribute tasks and decide quickly, which is exactly what you are looking for.
And unlike room dynamics, no one feels ridiculous doing it.
Can a work meeting be held on board?
With the boat at anchor and a small group, yes. The living room of a Jeanneau Yacht 54 or a Lagoon 46 is a place to sit and talk properly.
Not in navigation: the boat moves and it is not the right place. The usual thing is to sail, anchor, work and return.
Do you coordinate catering and transfers?
Yes. Food on board, transfers from the Tenerife South airport - which is a quarter of an hour from the base - and prior accommodation if necessary.
The advantage is having a single interlocutor for the boat, the skipper and the logistics, instead of coordinating three suppliers.
How long does an event last?
From three hours - a short outing with the management team or a sunset at the closing of the convention - to a week of flotilla sailing between islands.
The full-day format is the most frequently hired: it allows you to navigate, anchor, eat and return with the sunset.
Do you issue an invoice in the name of the company?
Yes. We are the shipping company, with a charter contract and invoice. There are no intermediaries involved.
Standard payment conditions are 50% when confirming the reservation and 50% four weeks before. For corporate events we can adjust deadlines: contact us.
What if the day of the event is bad weather?
The boss decides with the report. The usual thing on the south coast is that there is always a more sheltered navigable alternative, so the event is done the same with the adjusted route.
If you cannot leave directly, it is rescheduled. In a corporate event it is advisable to have this discussed beforehand, and we leave it in writing when hiring.
