The starting point
An intimate moment shared with a hundred strangers is no longer so
You are looking for something special for an anniversary, a proposal or simply a different afternoon as a couple, and what you find are sunset excursions with a drink of cava included where you go up with a hundred other people, all looking for the same place on the edge to take the same photo.
It works as an afternoon plan. It doesn't work as a moment. And if there was also a surprise prepared, the logistics become directly impossible: there is nowhere to stand aside and there is always someone watching.
The alternative that is usually ruled out is renting an entire boat for two, because it sounds disproportionate. It is, technically. But for certain occasions that is exactly what one is looking for.

A romantic boat trip around Tenerife is a private departure of three to five hours from Marina del Sur. Navigation along the southwest coast, sunset from the water with the profile of La Gomera in the background, and calm anchoring if you want to stop.
On board are the two of you and the professional skipper, who runs the boat and knows how to stay out of the way. It is his job and he has it practiced: you don't have to ask for it.
You can bring whatever you want or ask us to coordinate the dinner, and if there is a surprise involved—an order, a gift, a specific moment— tell us when booking. The skipper positions the boat, chooses the course and calculates the time so that that moment falls where it should fall.

You bring your bottle or we coordinate it. The boat has a refrigerator, glasses and table. In winter the sun sets early, so an afternoon outing ends with dinner with a sunset without being prolonged.

Service offered by and for sailors. The difference is noticeable from check-in.
Own fleet, not a marketplace. The boat you reserve is maintained, inspected and delivered by us. We do not put you in contact with an unknown owner and we move away.
The check-in is done by a sailor. Not an administrator with a signature sheet: someone who knows the island's anchorages, the accelerations of the channels and what time it is best to cross.
Support throughout the entire charter. Our technical team is contactable for the days that your rental lasts. If something arises on board, we solve it without you wasting the week.

We propose a boat and price
We look at what is available on those dates and we tell you honestly which unit fits your group. Closed quote, without intermediary commission.

You confirm with 50%
50% blocks the reservation and the remaining 50% is paid four weeks before boarding. Until that first payment there is no commitment of any kind.

Boaring
Check-in at Marina del Sur or Marina Santa Cruz with a briefing from a team navigator: the boat, the area, the part and the anchorages. No rush.

Does the skipper go with us all the time?
Yes, he is responsible for the boat and cannot leave the boat. But he knows how to stay out of it: it is part of his job and he has more than practiced it.
In practice, when the boat is anchored he stays in his area and you have yours. You don't have to ask for it.
Can a marriage proposal be prepared?
Yes, and it is what they ask of us most in this plan. Let us know when booking and the skipper calculates the departure time so that the sunset falls at the right time and places the boat where it should.
If you need to coordinate something else—flowers, music, a specific bottle, a photographer—tell us in advance and we will set it up.
How long does the departure last?
Between three and five hours. Three is the minimum we recommend: enough to sail, see the sunset and return without stress.
Four or five means quiet anchorage and dinner on board. See hourly rental.
Can you dine on board?
Yes. The boats have a full kitchen, refrigerator, kitchenware and table. You can bring whatever you want or ask us to coordinate catering.
The usual thing is to have dinner at anchor, with the engine off. More details in dinner on a boat.
How much does it cost to rent an entire boat just for two?
It depends on the boat available, the duration and the date. For two people, obviously, the cost per head is the highest of all our plans: you are paying for the entire boat.
It's a whim and we say it bluntly. For an anniversary or an engagement it is usually exactly the whim you are looking for; for any given afternoon, it may not be worth it.
Do I need a nautical qualification?
No. The departure carries professional skipper included, who is responsible for the boat. You are going as passengers on a private boat.
At what time should you leave?
So that the sunset falls in the middle of the departure, about three hours before sunset on that specific day. In the Canary Islands the sun falls early in winter, so the time varies a lot between November and April.
When you book we give you the exact time for your date.
What if the day is ugly?
The boss decides with the report. If you can navigate but the sky is covered, the departure is the same: the sunset may not be seen but the navigation is worth it.
If you cannot leave, it is rescheduled to another available day. On a special occasion we prefer to move it than spoil it.
