The starting point
You have half an afternoon free, not a week
You are in Tenerife for a few days, you want to go out to sea and you are not going to set out on a cruise. The logical thing would be a trip of three or four hours. And there the island basically offers you one thing: a shared boat that leaves at a fixed time, takes a fixed route and returns at a fixed time, with dozens of other people on board.
It is used to see the coast. It doesn't work if what you're celebrating is a birthday, if six friends are going, if it's your anniversary or if you simply don't feel like someone else choosing the soundtrack for the afternoon.
And there is an added problem that no one warns about: in a two-hour outing you don't get anywhere. Between leaving the port, sailing and returning, there is the difference between going around the mouth and actually reaching an anchorage.
The proposal
Short private outings, with the time and route that you decide
Search hourly boat rental in Tenerife usually means one of three things: you have half a day free and you want to go out to the sea, you want to celebrate something on board, or you want to see the sunset from the water without compromising the entire day.
For all three, the formula is the same: a short outing on a private boat with a professional skipper included. Only your group, without necessary qualifications and with the route decided by you. The usual is three to five hours, leaving from Marina del Sur (Las Galletas) or Marina Santa Cruz.
Now the honest part, because in this market there is a lot of empty promise: our main format is the weekly charter from Saturday to Saturday, and we offer hourly departures in the gaps left by the fleet. We are not a tour operator that leaves the dock every two hours. If you have a date in mind, write to us and we will tell you in five minutes if there is a boat or not.
Formats
What can be done in three or four hours
In the Canary Islands winter the sun sets early, and that makes short outings more popular than it seems.

Sunset — 3 hours
Departure in the middle of the afternoon, sailing along the southwest coast and sunset from the water, with the profile of La Gomera in the background when the day is clear. It is the most requested short trip and the one that works best in winter.

Birthday or celebration — 4 hours
The entire boat for the group, with a swim stop and time to toast. You can bring your food and drink or ask us to coordinate catering. No public address system, no other passengers and no next turn waiting.

Half a day with anchoring — 4 to 5 hours
Morning departure to Palm-Mar, the coast of Adeje or Playa Paraíso, anchoring to swim and return at lunch time. The plan that works best with small children on board.

Anniversary, proposal or simply a different afternoon. With the private boat you don't have to share the moment with sixty strangers, which is exactly the problem with typical excursions.

The Teno-Rasca strip is just over an hour from Marina del Sur, so take a short but fair outing. If the sighting is the priority, we recommend the full day so as not to go with the clock on you.

A presentation, a team meeting or a thank you to clients. A boat at anchor is a setting that is remembered much more than a hotel room, and for less money than it seems.
The difference
Why a private outing costs more than a tourist tour
In Tenerife there are dozens of boats that take two or three hour trips from Los Cristianos, Puerto Colón or Los Gigantes for very little money per person. They work by filling the boat: sixty, one hundred or two hundred seats, fixed route and three shifts a day.
A private departure is the opposite: the boat does not leave until you book it, and it does not leave with anyone else. That means that the cost of the boat, fuel and skipper are covered by a single group, and that is why the price per person is higher.
What you buy in exchange: choose the time, choose the route, stay longer if the dolphins appear, play your music, toast whatever without anyone looking at you. And a photo without a hundred strangers in the background.
In a group of six or eight people the difference per head becomes quite narrow. As a couple, it is clearly a whim — but for a proposal or an anniversary it is usually exactly the whim you are looking for.

How much does it cost to rent a boat by the hour in Tenerife
We do not publish a closed hourly rate because it would be misleading. This is what makes up the price.
The price of a short trip depends on three things: what boat is free that day, how many hours and what date it is. A midweek sunset afternoon in January and a Saturday during Easter do not cost the same, and publishing a "from €X" that is almost never fulfilled is of no use to anyone.

As a cost reference per hour, The weekly charter is by far the most efficient format: the weekly rate spreads the boat over seven full days.

Own fleet, not a marketplace. The boat you reserve is maintained, inspected and delivered by us. We do not put you in contact with an unknown shipowner and we move away.

Can you rent a boat by the hour in Tenerife?
Yes, with limited availability. Our main format is the weekly charter, and short departures are offered in the gaps left by the fleet between charters.
We do not operate like tour operators that leave the dock every two hours: here each departure is tailored to suit. Write to us with the approximate day and time and we will confirm if there is a boat.
What is the minimum duration?
The usual thing is three hours. Below that it is not worth it: between leaving the port, sailing and returning, a two-hour departure is little more than a trip around the mouth.
Three hours are enough for a complete sunset; four or five, to reach an anchorage, bathe and return without rushing.
Is the skipper included? Do I need a qualification?
The professional skipper is always included on the short outings, and therefore you do not need a nautical qualification or previous experience of any kind.
Our boats are cruising sailboats and catamarans from 38 to 55 feet: it would make no sense to hand them over for a few hours without a skipper to board.
Is the boat shared with other people?
Never. All our departures are private: your group and the skipper are on board, and no one else.
This is the difference with the excursions to Los Cristianos, Puerto Colón or Los Gigantes, which fill boats with dozens or hundreds of seats with a fixed schedule and route.
Is it for a birthday or a celebration?
It is one of the most frequent uses. Birthdays, anniversaries, marriage proposals, farewells or a business lunch: the private boat for a few hours works very well as a setting.

Is there time to see dolphins on a short outing?
Just right. The Teno-Rasca whale strip is just over an hour by boat from Marina del Sur, so in four hours you get there, stay for a while and come back.
If whale watching is the priority of the plan, we recommend the full day: the animals appear when they appear and with the clock on you the experience changes a lot.
What time is better? leave?
Depends on the plan. For a sunset, leaving about three hours before sunset, which falls quite early in the Canary Islands winter. For anchoring and swimming, the morning usually has less wind and flatter seas.
The pattern adjusts it for you with the part of the day. In the Canary Islands the afternoon tends to be cooler than the morning, and that determines which plan goes best.
Which port does it depart from?
From Marina del Sur, in Las Galletas (Arona), which is the natural base for the entire south of the island and is a quarter of an hour from the Tenerife South airport, or from Marina Santa Cruz de Tenerife depending on the boat available.
