To the price of the boat you must add the professional skipper (€1,500/week on a sailboat, €1,800 on a catamaran, plus meals), the final cleaning of €240 and the gas bottle. Put in perspective: for what it costs one day on a motor superyacht, you get a whole week on a private yacht with a skipper.

Yes, with nuances depending on the boat. In addition to the skipper, on the Jeanneau Yacht 54 (Joulukka), the Sun Odyssey 490 (Little Mia) and the Sun Odyssey 440 (Majadero) there is the option of hostess on board, which takes care of the service, meals and order of the boat.

Sailboats from 51 to 55 feet carry 10 people in 5 double cabins with 3 bathrooms. The Sun Odyssey 490 seats 11. The Lagoon catamarans admit 8 and 9 people in 4 cabins with 4 bathrooms.

Practical recommendation: for a whole week do not push the maximum capacity. A boat approved for 10 is really comfortable with 8, and the price difference per person is minimal.

For the high-end, the sooner the better: there are six boats and the weeks of Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter and the long weekends in February are booked months in advance. The usual thing is to book between three and six months in advance.

Exclusively private. The boat belongs to your group throughout the week: no one else gets on board except the skipper and, if you hire her, the hostess.

This is the main difference with the excursions that leave from Los Cristianos or Puerto Colón, where you share a large catamaran with dozens of people and a fixed schedule. Here the route, the schedules and the stops are decided by you.

From Marina del Sur (Las Galletas, Arona), a quarter of an hour from the Tenerife Sur airport, or from Marina Santa Cruz de Tenerife according to boat and route.

One week gives you time to explore the southwest coast of Tenerife, enter the Teno-Rasca cetacean strip, see the cliffs of Los Gigantes from the sea and cross to La Gomera, and even La Palma or El Hierro.

November to April, which is when our fleet is in the islands. It is the window in which the trade winds ease, the sea is more manageable, the temperature is around 20–23 °C and the anchorages are not saturated.

In July and August the wind in the Canary Islands blows much stronger, especially in the channels between the islands. From May to October these same boats sail in Mallorca.
