He night boat ride It is a separate category. It is not the same as the sunset trip (which ends when the sun goes down) or the boat dinner (which focuses on the anchored cove). Here what counts is time in the water after dark: sailing under the moon, seeing the city lights from the sea, listening to the water against the hull without anything in the background, feeling how the land wind blows softly after the heat of the day. A different experience — and very underused in Mallorca.

The typical format: departure from the port at sunset (~19:00-20:00 depending on the season), short sailing, sunset from the sea, anchoring or slow sailing under the first stars, return to the port at 23:00-23:30. Total: 4-5 hours. If you want to include a carefully prepared dinner on board, we will coordinate the catering as with the dinner on boat — everything combinable. The outings are led by skippers with specific experience in night navigation. Leaving and entering Palma port at night requires knowledge of lights and buoyage — it is not standard passenger navigation. The season runs from May to October, with especially recommended full moon nights (check the lunar calendar for your date; we value a +10% supplement on full moon nights). If there is a fireworks event in La Lonja or the port (San Sebastián, local festivals), we offer the specific departure to see them from the sea — write to us.

The reflection of the full moon in the sea of ​​Mallorca is one of the most underused visual spectacles on the island. It happens 13 times a year for 1-2 nights. If your date falls near a full moon, consider it seriously — it's worth the +10% extra.

1-2 miles from the coast, away from the lights of Palma, the night sky in Mallorca still offers a reasonable view of stars. If the sunrise coincides with a new or fourth moon, the stars are the protagonists. Bring an astronomy app, improve the experience.

The thermal wind during the day (which blows from the land towards the sea and then reverses in the afternoon) usually subsides at dusk. The sea at night in summer in Mallorca tends to be calmer — water almost like a mirror, silent navigation, a feeling of weightlessness.

What we get asked most about night walks

Is it safe to sail at night?

Yes, completely. We only go out with skippers with qualifications suitable for night navigation and proven experience in La Lonja Marina. The boats have regulatory navigation lights, GPS, chart plotter, VHF radio. Night navigation in known waters and in good weather is perfectly safe — we don't go out if the weather says otherwise.

How long does a night out last?

4-5 hours It is the standard format. For example in July: departure 19:30 → sunset 21:15 from the sea → slow sailing 22:00-23:00 → return port 23:30. In September, sunset is at 20:00 — we adjust departure time. If you want to extend it (long after-dinner, drink in port), it can be coordinated with a supplement.

What are the best nights of the month?

Those close to the full moon (1-2 nights before and after). The reflection in the sea is spectacular, the light makes navigation more comfortable, the photos look good without flash. If your date has flexibility, look at the lunar calendar and choose a night close to the full moon. +10% supplement on strict full moon, but for many it is clearly viable.

Is it cold at night at sea?

In July and August, almost never — temperatures remain around 24-26°C even at midnight. In May, early June and October it can drop to 18-20°C in the water, a gentle land breeze blows, and a light sweater or sarong is appreciated. It is advisable to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt just in case.

Is it a good plan for couples or groups?

For both, but the natural format is couples or small groups (4-6 people) — the night favors conversation, intimacy, contemplation. For large party groups that want music and partying, look no further than boat party in daytime or sunset format. For couple celebrations (anniversary, special birthday), the night party is perfect.

Is a degree required?

Not for the client — all outings with a professional skipper included (the specific night certification is provided by him, not you). You are passengers without responsibility. If you have a night qualification and would like to rent a bareboat for a night out, we evaluate specific cases with a nautical CV — but by default the night boats go with a skipper.

Can it be combined with a formal dinner?

Yes, totally. Two formats: (1) dinner on board during departure (we coordinate catering: aperitif ~€25/p, light dinner ~€55/p, premium chef from €90/p), (2) dinner at a restaurant on land before (~9:00 p.m.) and then a night out just for drinks and a sit-down meal on deck (10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.). The second format is popular if you want dinner at a specific restaurant in Palma.
