Frequently asked questions

What we get asked most about boat activities

Do you operate in Mallorca and the Canary Islands?

Yes. The ECC Yacht fleet moves according to the nautical season: May to October in Mallorca (base in La Lonja Marina, Palma) and November to April in the Canary Islands (Tenerife and Lanzarote). The activities in Mallorca have a complete catalog of 17 experiences published in what to do in Mallorca. The equivalent catalog for the Canary Islands is under development — in the meantime they are coordinated on a case-by-case basis via WhatsApp.

What activities are available in Mallorca?

17 experiences grouped into three blocks: daily walks and experiences (sunset boat, sailing/catamaran/luxury yacht rides, ride with food, night, boat), private celebrations and events (farewells, dinner, party, romantic walk, business events) and nautical and sports activities (fishing, sailing, diving, water sports, whale watching). All with professional pattern included.

And in the Canary Islands, what can be done while the catalog is not available?

We operate the same formats as in Mallorca but adjusted to the Canarian context: sunset walks, deep-sea fishing days (The Canary Islands are a top tuna fishing spot), whale watching (Tenerife has a resident population of pilot whales and dolphins), sailing courses with practices for PER and inter-island crossings. Tell us what you are interested in on WhatsApp and we will coordinate.

How much does a boat activity cost?

In Mallorca, the indicative ranges are: sailboat with skipper from €600 sunset (3-4h), from €850 half day with skipper on a sailboat, €1,300 full day. Catamaran: €1,200 sunset, €2,200 full day. Premium yacht: from €1,400 sunset. Catering, DJ and other extras are contracted separately. For exact prices according to boat and season, contact us via WhatsApp or form.

For how many people is it worth renting a boat?

For groups of 6 people or more clearly pays off: the cost per person is greatly reduced and the boat gives you something that a small boat does not have — several stops in different coves during the day (you are not tied to a single anchorage), more space on board, bathroom on board in case you get a squeeze and real beds in case you want to take a nap between baths. Three basic luxuries that change the experience.

Do I need a nautical license to participate?

No. All activities go with professional pattern included — the client is a passenger. If you are interested in learning sailing, take a look sailing classes and courses. If you have your nautical qualification and want to take the boat alone, the modality is called bareboat rental and it is per week.

Do you need a license to rent a Lagoon 43?

The catamaran Lagoon 43 (Ky Dong) You can rent both bareboat (with your valid nautical qualification and demonstrable experience) and with an optional professional skipper. The other catamaran in the fleet, Lagoon 46 (Machango), is the only one that always goes with a separate mandatory skipper (€1,800/week, not included in the price of the boat). Lagoon 43s are NOT chartered exclusively with a skipper — this is a common confusion.

When is the best time to book?

In Majorca: May, June, September and October have better availability and more reasonable prices; July and August are the peak months (book 2-3 months in advance). In Canary Islands: Winter (November to April) is high season — December/January/February with very good weather. Booking 4-6 weeks in advance is generally safe.

Can I combine Mallorca and the Canary Islands on the same trip?

Yes — we have a specific program called One Ways by ECC Yacht with one-way crossings between Mallorca and the Canary Islands (in seasonal transition, typically May and November). It is a longer experience (5-10 days sailing) and for clients with nautical experience or who value ocean voyages.
