Catamaran rental in Mallorca Lagoon 43 and 46
Stability, space and little draft. Two recent Lagoon catamarans for 8 and 9 people, with 4 double cabins and an en-suite bathroom each. Weekly departures Saturday to Saturday from La Lonja Marina.
He catamaran rental in Mallorca It has a very clear advantage over the monocoque: stability. When you are sailing with family, children or people who get dizzy from heeling, a catamaran changes the experience completely. And at anchor, the difference is even greater: two parallel hulls mean double the deck area for sunbathing, eating or sleeping under the stars.
At ECC Yacht Charter we operate two Lagoon catamarans in Mallorca: Ky Dong (Lagoon 43, year 2025, 9 seats) and Machango (Lagoon 46, year 2021, 8 seats). Both are from own fleet and they remain in La Lonja Marina all season. They are part of our complete boat rental fleet in Mallorca, which also includes 15 sailboats of variable length.
Departures Saturday to Saturday from La Lonja Marina Charter, in front of the old town of Palma. The Ky Dong can be rented bareboat (with your valid nautical license) or with professional pattern. El Machango is always rented with mandatory pattern separately (€1,800/week, not included in the price of the boat).

See availabilityWhy a catamaran and not a sailboat?
The two great advantages over the monohull: stability and SPACE. The catamaran is the answer when the group prioritizes comfort over the purity of sailing.
Stability without heeling
No heeling under wind. The plates don't slip, the children run without falling, and anyone who gets sick while sailing on board a catamaran is usually perfectly fine.
Double the living area
Two parallel hulls = double the deck. Giant interior lounge, bow terrace, covered aft cockpit and flybridge (on the Lagoon 46). More space than any equivalent monohull sailboat.
Little draft, more coves
Draft of 1.3 m (vs 2 m for a sailboat). You enter shallow coves where a sailboat cannot reach — Cala Varques, Cala Mondragó or the south of Formentera.
Cabins with en-suite bathroom
Four double cabins, each with its own bathroom en suite. Total privacy for 4 couples or families — something almost impossible on a monohull sailboat of similar length.
Ideal for gastronomic experiences
The cockpit and lounge function as a restaurant afloat — perfect for a dinner on boat or a luxury ride with catering on board.
Lagoon Shipyard
The Lagoons are the world reference in charter catamarans. Quality finishes, redundant systems and a design designed for the customer to enjoy, not for the boss to suffer.

What we are asked most about catamaran rentals
How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Mallorca for a week?
He catamaran rental in Mallorca at ECC Yacht starts in €7,200/week (Ky Dong, Lagoon 43, low season) and reaches €11,500/week in the middle of high season. The average in July and August ranges between €9,000 and €11,000/week. If your budget is tighter, look sailboats from €2,400/week.
Added to this are mandatory costs (cleaning €210, gas bottle €25). The professional skipper is not included in the price of either catamaran: on the Ky Dong it is optional at €1,800/week and on the Machango it is mandatory separately (also €1,800/week).
Do I need a license to rent a catamaran?
For him Ky Dong (Lagoon 43) Yes, if you want to take it on a bareboat: you need your valid nautical qualification (or international equivalent) and demonstrable experience sailing catamarans. If you do not have a license or prefer not to worry about navigation, you hire the boat with professional pattern at €1,800/week.
He Machango (Lagoon 46) It is always rented with a separate mandatory skipper (€1,800/week, not included in the price of the boat). You don't need a degree of any kind.
Why does a catamaran cost three times as much as an equivalent sailboat?
There are three main reasons. First, catamarans are more expensive to manufacture: two hulls, two engines, two electrical systems, much more surface area. Second, they pay double mooring in marine (or more): a Lagoon 46 takes up the space of two sailboats. Third, the demand is very high and the limited supply — a new catamaran in Mallorca is booked many months in advance.
If you're looking to sail, a sailboat gives you an equivalent experience at a fraction of the price. If what you are looking for is comfort and space for a large group, the catamaran is irreplaceable.
What is the difference between Ky Dong and Machango?
He Ky Dong (Lagoon 43, 2025) It is our new catamaran: 13.85 m in length, 9 seats, 4 double cabins + 4 en-suite bathrooms + convertible bow cabin. Brand new model, you can rent a bareboat (with your nautical qualification) or with an optional skipper.
He Machango (Lagoon 46, 2021) It is a little larger (14 m), with 8 seats and 4 cabins. Its differential is flybridge: upper area with space to lie down in the sun and the captain's command post with 360° views. for rent always with a separate mandatory professional pattern (€1,800/week, not included in the boat price) — ideal if you don't have a qualification or want a more relaxed experience with a captain on board.
What does the price of the catamaran include?
Includes the full use of the catamaran during the week, the mooring in La Lonja Marina all week, regulatory safety equipment, dishes, bedding, technical departure briefing and our personal assistance by call and WhatsApp throughout the charter, with route recommendations and navigation tips. Each catamaran has paddle surf, snorkel, autopilot, plotter and dinghy with outboard motor.
Mandatory separate costs: final cleaning (€210) and gas bottle (€25). Professional skipper: optional on the Ky Dong (€1,800/week) and mandatory separately on the Machango (€1,800/week, not included in the price of the boat). Optional extras: additional SUP €150, WiFi €200.
What are the best catamaran routes from Mallorca?
The catamaran shines especially on routes with many anchorages in coves — where the shallow draft is decisive. Three recommendations for a week:
Mallorca + Cabrera: Cala Pi → Cabrera (national park, we manage the anchoring permit) → Porto Petro → Cala Mondragó → Porto Cristo → Cala Mesquida. Shallow coves where the catamaran fits better than a sailboat.
Pitiusas: Ibiza and Formentera, 57 miles southwest. The south of Formentera (Espalmador, S'Espalmador, Illetes) is practically exclusive for shallow draft boats.
North Mallorca: Sóller, Sa Calobra, Cala Tuent, Formentor. A week sailing the wild coast of the Tramuntana, with spectacular anchorages.
When is the best time to rent a catamaran in Mallorca?
The season in the Balearic Islands goes from May to October. Catamarans are in high demand — we recommend booking at least 4-6 months in advance for July and August. May, June, September and October have better availability and more reasonable prices.
From November to April, our fleet of sailboats travels to Canary Islands, but the Lagoon catamarans remain under maintenance in Mallorca.
