He boat trip with lunch This is probably the most comprehensive and popular trip option in the fleet. A full day, a comfortable 10:00 AM departure, a coastal route, anchoring in a cove, lunch on board with a leisurely after-lunch chat, a second anchorage if desired, and a return to port at sunset. It's the option that best balances sailing, swimming, food, and relaxation—ideal for a mixed group of adults and children, or for a relaxing day out for two.

The typical approach: exit from The Fish Market (Palma) At 10:00, sailing for 1-1.5 hours towards the chosen cove (Cala Mago, Portals Vells, Cala Pi, Es Trenc depending on the boat and weather), anchoring, swimming, lunch on board between 14:00-15:30, after lunch until 16:30, possible change of cove or continuation, return to the port at 18:00-18:30. Eight hours in total, at a comfortable pace and without rushing.

Catering: three options depending on budget and convenience. (1) You bring the food (at no extra cost) — the boat has a large cooler with ice, a table in the bathtub, and basic tablecloths. (2) Light catering on board appetizer type or platters (~€25/person). (3) A formal lunch, pre-prepared by a Palma restaurant (~€55/person), will be delivered to the boat before departure. For large groups on premium yachts, an onboard chef can also be arranged. If you'd like more water activities during the day, see water sports on a boat.

What a day includes

What's a boat trip with food like?

Typical day structure — flexible, of course, but this is what is most requested by families and groups who want a balanced full day.

🕙

Departure 10:00

Meeting point: La Lonja Marina, Palma. Short briefing from the skipper, we leave port at 10:00. A reasonable time that doesn't require getting up early but allows us to make the most of the whole day.

Anchoring in a cove

After 1-1.5 hours of sailing, anchor in the chosen cove. Common coves: Cala Mago, Portals Vells, El Toro, Cala Vinyes. For Cala Pi or Es Trenc (further south), depart a little earlier.

🍽️

Lunch on board

Between 1:30 and 3:00 PM, lunch on deck overlooking the cove. You can bring your own food, or we can arrange catering from appetizers (~€25/person) to a formal lunch (~€55/person). Wine is provided in a refrigerator, and basic tableware and tableware are included on board.

😎

long after-dinner conversation

What sets this format apart: time for genuine leisure. Coffee, conversation, a nap on deck, a relaxing swim. 90-120 minutes of doing absolutely nothing in an anchored cove — the most underutilized luxury of the Mediterranean summer.

🗺️

Optional second funding

If the weather is nice, around 4:30 pm we'll change coves for a second stop and a swim at another spot. If the group prefers to stay put, the skipper suggests a leisurely return and a long aperitif on deck on the way back to port.

🌅

Lap 17:00-18:30

Return to La Lonja Marina between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM, depending on the cove visited. If you'd like to extend the trip to sunset, we can arrange a longer excursion (10 hours instead of 8, with an additional charge) — combinable with sunset on a boat.

Preguntas frecuentes

The most frequently asked questions about food tours

Can we bring our own food?

Yes, absolutely, and at no extra cost. The boat has a large cooler with ice (it easily fits food and drinks for 8-10 people for the whole day), a table in the cockpit, tablecloths, and basic tableware. Recommendations: food that doesn't require cooking (sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, cheese, fruit), bottled or canned drinks (not fragile glass), and a separate trash bag to dispose of your waste upon your return.

Who organizes the catering if I coordinate it with you?

We work with caterers in Palma who specialize in boats. Three options depending on your budget: careful appetizer (~€25/person, platters of cured meats, cheese, nuts, dips, fruit), pre-prepared lunch (~€55/person, salads, cold main course, dessert, all in individual containers), chef on board (~€90-200/person, only viable on boats with a fully equipped kitchen — Lagoon 43/46, Jeanneau Yacht 54). They deliver it to the boat before departure.

How long does the ride last?

8 hours This is the standard format (approximately 10:00-18:00). It can be extended to 10 hours (10:00-20:00) with an additional charge if you want to include the sunset at the end of the day — then it's practically a combined day and sunset, recommended in high season when the sunset is very late.

In which cove do we anchor?

Most popular coves from Palma for a full day trip: Cala Mago (closer, arrival in 1 hour), Old Portals (caves and beach with beach bar), The Bull (classical), Cala Vinyes, Cala Pi (further south, 2 hours sailing), Es Trenc (Turquoise, ideal for a catamaran due to its shallow draft). The skipper will suggest colors based on the weather and the group's preferences.

How much does it cost for the entire group?

Full day sailing trip (8h) with skipper: from €1,300. For a group of 8 people, the price is €165 per person. If you add a coordinated formal lunch (€55 per person), the total is around €220 per person. For a large group on a catamaran: €2,200 + lunch (€55/person × 9 = €495) = ~€2,700 (~€300/person). If you bring your own food, the cost per person decreases by ~€50.

Do you have a refrigerator and water on board?

Yes. Large cooler with ice (enough for 8-12 people all day), complimentary freshwater jug (5-10L, depending on the boat), freshwater tap on deck, and a bathroom with a freshwater shower. If you need significantly more water or a specific beverage, we can add it to the coordinated catering list.

How many people can it hold?

Small sailboats (Cotufa, Tizón): 6 people comfortably. Medium sailboats (Akilina, Tomeu, Majadero, Katalina): 8-10 people. Large sailboats (Joulukka, Le Grand, Tefiti, Tasmanian Demon, Little Mia): 10-12 people. Catamarans: Ky Dong 9 people, Machango 8 people. For groups of 12+, we recommend two boats in a flotilla.
