At ECC Yacht we operate the two catamarans from La Lonja Marina, in the heart of Palma. The outings always go with professional pattern included — the client enjoys himself as a passenger. We have available the Ky Dong (Lagoon 43, year 2025) for 9-12 people and the Machango (Lagoon 46, year 2021) for 8-12 people. Both have their own fleet and remain in La Lonja throughout the Mallorca season (May–October).

What differentiates a catamaran from a sailboat ride
If you hesitate between catamaran and sailboat for a day trip, here are the reasons why most groups choose catamarans when they can afford it.
No heeling, no seasickness
For people who get seasick, children or those who simply prefer not to lean, the catamaran is another league. The plates don't slide, the glasses don't fall — everything is flat on the sea.
Double the cover
Two parallel hulls = double the living area. Giant interior lounge, bow terrace, covered aft cockpit and bathing platforms in each hull. Place for everyone without stress.
Reach coves that a sailboat cannot
Draft of 1.3 m compared to 2 m for a sailboat. In the bay of Palma it is best to enter coves such as Portals Vells, Ses Illetes or El Toro; On weekly charters it opens access to the south of Formentera and shallow areas where a monohull remains far from the shore.

Four cabins with an en-suite bathroom each. For a day out with a family or group, changing and using the bathroom is a detail that makes a difference.

Professional skipper always
You do not need a nautical qualification or experience. The skipper takes care of the navigation, maneuvers and anchoring — you just enjoy. On the Machango the skipper is mandatory separately (€1,800/week, not included in the price of the boat).

Two Lagoon catamarans from our own fleet: Ky Dong (Lagoon 43, year 2025) with 4 double cabins and 4 en-suite bathrooms, capacity for 9 overnight guests and up to 12 on day charters; and Machango (Lagoon 46, year 2021), also 4 cabins with en-suite bathroom, 8 places overnight and up to 12 during the day. Both operate from La Lonja Marina (Palma).
How many people can fit on a catamaran for a day trip?
Until 12 people on day charter on either of the two catamarans. To spend the night the limit drops to 8-9 depending on the boat. For larger groups, consider renting several boats in a fleet or consult the program Family Fleet.
How much does it cost to rent a catamaran for a day in Mallorca?
The full day (8h) on a catamaran with a professional skipper begins in 2.200€ in low season. Sunset (3-4h): from €1,200. Half day (5h): from €1,500. In high season (July/August) prices rise and availability is very limited — catamarans are booked mainly on a weekly basis.
What coves can be visited on a day trip?
From La Lonja on a daily departure we comfortably reach the coves in the southwest of the bay of Palma: Portals Vells, Ses Illetes, El Delta, Cala Blava and El Toro. They are sheltered anchorages, with good access and clear water — ideal for a day of swimming with several stops and food on board.
We don't get to Cala Pi, Es Trenc or Cala Marmols in one day from Palma — they are too far southeast and there is no time to go, enjoy and return within the day. These destinations only come in a weekly format. For Cabrera, Sóller or Pitiusas, also weekly.
Do I need a nautical license?
No. The catamaran excursion always comes with a professional skipper included. We will not ask you for a nautical qualification or experience. If you wanted to take the catamaran yourself, you would have to have your valid nautical license and book it in format weekly bareboat.
Can catering be hired for the outing?
Yes. Three usual levels: aperitif (canapés, ~€25/p), lunch on board (3 courses, ~€55/p), gastronomic dinner (chef on board, tasting menu, from €90/p). The catamaran is especially comfortable for dining on board: air-conditioned lounge, large cockpit table and bow deck.
When is the best time for a catamaran excursion in Mallorca?
The catamaran season in Mallorca runs from May to October. May, June, September and October are ideal — good availability and reasonable prices. July and August They are high season with very limited availability (catamarans are reserved for weeks). Book 2-3 months in advance for high season and 2-3 weeks in advance for mid season.
